Navadvip
( 12.31.1969 )

BRIEF SYNOPSIS:

By the mercy of Srila Gurudeva, construction has begun on a Math in Mahaprabhu’s holy land  of Navadvip, West Bengal in India. By his mercy, a large kirtan hall where all devotees from around the world can congregate to receive Sri Guru and Gauranga’s mercy will be constructed by Sri Gaura Purnima 2006. For more information regarding everything that will be built, photos and words from Srila Gurudeva on the building of this Math click here.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

“Very soon, before Navadvipa parikrama takes place, we are going to establish a preaching center there in Sri Navadvipa-dhama. We will perform Navadvipa-dhama parikrama from there. We will try get at least ten acres of land, where we will build a temple with a goshala, kirtana hall, printing house, publishing department, guesthouse and brahmacari ashram.”
-- Srila Gurudeva

Srila Gurudeva has chosen the location of his Math to be in Haritala, a small village on the outside of Navadvip. Haritala corresponds with the area of Govardhan in Vrndavan. It is renowned throughout Navadvip as a place where all offenses are forgiven.

Construction on the Navadvip Math will begin very soon.

Srila Gurudeva was in Navadvip in the Summer of 2005. He met with the architect and with Gopinath Prabhu to discuss the project.

Srila Gurudev envisions the following for his beloved Math:

A Large Mandir

Guest House

Brahmachari Rooms

Kitchen

Bathrooms

Gardens

Library

Medical Dispensary

Festival Facilities where 10,000 pilgrims can sit comfortable and hear Harikatha as well as partake
in respecting sumptuous prasadam
Main contributors to the design of the project are:
Srila Gurudeva
Sri Gopinath prabhu
Sri Yasodananda prabhu
Mr Malay Bose--architect
Sri Satrugna prabhu
and many more
Before Sri Gaura Purnima the first phase of the Mandir, basement, kirtan hall, will be ready so that all pilgrims will be able to hear and chant together in a very auspicious manner.
This project of Srila Gurudeva’s is very dear to his heart.
Here are some of his nectarian words on the project.
“I have decided to make this temple, especially for the international assembly of devotees.
But that new temple wants so much money. All of you can personally give at least a small donation. We can very quickly build a fence, and then the buildings and so on. All will be done by the time of parikrama. Somehow I have promised – I have taken a vow – that we must do parikrama from that place this coming year.
I request you all to help.
Sannyasis should inspire others to join in this big service of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Sri Nityananda prabhu.
I think you are happy to hear this, so try to help me in this service.”
--Srila Gurudeva
It is by Srila Gurudeva’s fortune that we are able to serve him in such an intimate way by helping him build a Math so near and dear to his heart. To partake in this mercy, donations are accepted in any of the following ways…
