Kolkata Math
( 12.31.1969 )
BRIEF SYNOPSIS:

Srila Gurudeva has finalized on a property in Kolkata for establishing a Gaudiya Matha.  The property is on a very good location on the Eastern Kolkata (name of the place is Manicktola) close to airport and easily accessible to by other modes.  The total cost of the property will be approximately 76 lakhs.  For information on the importance of Kolkata Matha, what we need now, and your gain through donating please click here.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Kolkata Gaudiya Matha Foundation Membership – An Appeal

Importance of Kolkata Matha:  Sridham Mayapur is the birthplace of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, and Navadwip is the headquarter of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s mission.  Kolkata is a vital link to visit Navadwip.  And because Srila Gurudeva and all the devotees currently do not have any Matha to stay in Kolkata, Srila Gurudeva himself is developing this Matha.

Also, Kolkata is the birthplace of Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.  ISKCON has big Mathas in Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore, but only a small presence in Kolkata.  This Matha will compensate for that.

What we need now: We will have about 20 to 25 rooms available for overseas guests during their stay in Kolkata or on their way to Navadwip.  A nominal donation of $1000.00 is set up to foot the cost of development and give everybody the opportunity to serve the noble mission of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.  A plaque will be dedicated in your name (or whoever you choose to) to be displayed in front of the rooms.  Srila Gurudeva currently has several projects at hand. His desire is to develop this property in two to four years time into a complete Matha so that hundreds of devotees can listen to Harikatha.

Your Gain: Although the scriptural regulations do not allow you to indulge in the benefits vis-à-vis donations for building temples and Mathas, the reality is that by donating with proper faith one accumulates tremendous “sukriti” as per our scriptures.  The accumulated sukriti through many lives allows you to have association of the sadhus and devotees of Krsna, which in turn awaken Bhakti within your heart.  This is the secret of success of one’s life.

As the numbers of rooms are limited, please respond fast to this letter with your pledge.
